About Niko wood co.
One-man operated business
I’m a teacher and maker living in beautiful British Columbia. I handcraft each piece of furniture with food safe and FDA-approved glues, oils, and finishes — no stains or dyes. I only use locally-sourced materials from Canadian-owned and operated businesses.
I founded Niko Wood Co., named after my loveable jerk of a dog, in January of 2018. I began woodworking because I just couldn’t seem to find the furniture I was looking for. I started by making a coffee table out of reclaimed pallets, and loved the process. Woodworking provides the respite I need after a chaotic day of teaching and I have a soft spot for every piece i make.
Outside of woodworking, I try to experience as much of this world as I can. Between international travel in my summers, I snowshoe, kayak, and backpack.
